We are seeking the services of a Crime Data Analyst for 12 months to: Work with and across all agencies to map current security processes and data that will be collected using Agency provided data application. Establish consensus with all agencies on common fields and processes that need to be tracked. Perform data entry and compile reports that meet stakeholder needs. Responsibilities: The Crime Data Analyst will: Obtain security-related information through various sources and agencies. Scan for common statistical data and develop action plans. Participate in meetings and perform related tasks as directed. Gather statistical data concerning agency requirements. Utilize current agency designated computerized interfaces and systems. Analyze and present data under the direction of the cognizant Director of Data Information and Analysis. Compile crime-related data fields, enter data, assign priorities, and determine relevancy. Develop action plans, schedules, and keep participants informed during development meetings. Educational Requirements: A baccalaureate degree in Criminal Justice, Business Administration, Information Technology, Security Management, or a closely related field, and one year of full-time paid experience in a security-related position, or a high school diploma with five years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Required Skills: Proficient written and oral communication skills in English. Ability to collect and interpret data effectively. Proficiency in Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office. Ability to accurately type 40 Words per Minute. Ability to work in a fast-paced emergency environment while maintaining professionalism. Task prioritization and organizational skills. Ability to make critical decisions based on data and past experiences. Ability to complete multiple concurrent tasks effectively. Specialized Knowledge Preferred: Experience with computer records management systems. Geographical familiarity with the New York Metropolitan region. Experience in mass/public transportation systems. Familiarity with computer systems and databases. Preferred Skills: Work experience with regional police agencies. Ability to manage simultaneous requirements. Strong experience with Records and/or Data Management Systems. Project Management Certification preferred. Other Requirements: Must pass a background investigation. Must pass a drug and alcohol test.
