Summary
The FSQA Manager (Food Safety & Quality Assurance) supports the Director of Quality in driving daily operations and long-term quality initiatives. This leadership role is responsible for guiding, developing, and supporting the quality team to ensure consistent, high-performance results in a dynamic, regulated environment.
This position requires a proactive, strategic leader who can anticipate challenges, promote a culture of food safety, and drive continuous improvement. The FSQA Manager serves as the Management Representative for regulatory programs including ISO 9001, FSSC 22000, and IMS, and is accountable for maintaining and advancing the facility’s food safety program through HACCP and GMP methodologies.

Key Responsibilities:
· Perform QC test data analysis utilizing SPC and other methods as appropriate.
· Maintain critical systems processes: Calibration, Document Control, Change Control, all plant-specific QMS functions.
· Responsible for all management responsibilities to include scheduling for all Quality Lab technicians, performing routine employee evaluations by the due dates, providing training and support for team development.
· Organize and attend customer visits, as needed, to complete customer corrective action investigations.
· Supervise the daily activities of the appraisal function including working safely, reviewing QC documentation from previous 24 hours, dispositioning nonconformance reports, performing scrap analysis, troubleshooting quality related issues as they arise on the production floor.
· Generate weekly and monthly reports on quality-related KPI’s.
· Initiate root cause analysis & corrective actions.
· Conduct GMP and UN HazMat training as required.
· Maintain HACCP plan.
· Responsible for your own success: able to plan work, identify obstacles and training needs.
· Conduct product or material testing using various types of metrology equipment.
· Perform data entry and reporting of test results including graphing and statistical analysis.
· Participate in all meetings that require Quality representation.
· Communicate all Quality findings to the Director of Quality.
· Create and maintain internal & external audit schedules; perform internal audits and maintain all audit findings at the plant level. Initiate follow-up activities.
· Work with production and processing teams to identify quality improvement initiatives.
QUALIFICATIONS
Competencies (Knowledge/Skills/Abilities)
· Knowledge of the ISO 9001:2015 Quality Standard
· Knowledge of Food-Safety standards and guidance programs such as GFSI, HACCP, GMP, SQF, ISO 22000, FSSC 22000
· Knowledge of various Root Cause Analysis tools
· Excellence with presenting test data reports to fellow colleagues and customers
· Skill in Microsoft Word and Excel
· Skill in writing procedures
· Excellent verbal and written communication
· Experience with CMM programming preferred
· Ability to effectively prioritize heavy workload and appropriately delegate tasks
Education
· Minimum four (4) year degree, or equivalent Quality experience required
· Minimum three (3) years’ experience in a senior quality role required, preferably in a food-grade manufacturing environment
Licenses and Certifications
· Certified internal or lead auditor for ISO 9001 and/or other regulatory standards required
· HACCP certification preferred
Experience
· Experience in implementing and maintaining ISO 9001:2015 Quality Standard required (Minimum three years)
· Experience in implementing and maintaining food safety quality programs such as GFSI and/or FSSC required (Minimum two years)
· Experience with Lean Manufacturing concepts preferred
