A prestigious five-star hotel in Malta is seeking a talented and experienced Sushi Chef to join its culinary team. The ideal candidate will bring creativity, precision, and a deep understanding of Japanese cuisine to deliver an exceptional dining experience to guests.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare and present high-quality sushi dishes, including sashimi, nigiri, maki, and specialty rolls.
Ensure the highest standards of food hygiene, safety, and quality.
Source and handle fresh ingredients with care and efficiency.
Collaborate with the culinary team to design and evolve the sushi menu.
Maintain a clean and organized kitchen station, adhering to all health and safety regulations.
Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with procurement for ingredient sourcing.
Engage with guests when appropriate to explain dishes and provide a memorable experience.
Requirements:
Proven experience as a Sushi Chef, preferably in a luxury hotel or fine dining environment.
In-depth knowledge of traditional Japanese ingredients, techniques, and knife skills.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to excellence.
Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
Culinary certification or equivalent training in Japanese cuisine is a plus.
